Jan 6 Further tennis Camps planned

The three tennis camps held during the school holidays have all been successful having all been booked out with camp number (4)to be held on the 21,22,23 Jan also full. A camp number (5) will now be held on the 28,29, and 30 Jan and depending on the responce a camp number (6)will be conducted before school resumes.The camp recently conducted had its timetable and program adjusted to cope with the high temperatues. Congratulations to all involved with prizes as follows-Doubles winners Hannah Stewart and Pacey Marks, Sara Molloy and Lauren Mijok.Singles winner and runner up Charlie Cronin and Dylan Lund, Most Improved Lucha Tumolero.and Courtney Turner and Players of the week Capri Tumolero and Jenson Hargraeves.A number of Hay players will be attending the Australian Open so hope the weather stays good for your enjoyment. Stuart Callaghan will also be attending an Australian coaches conference.

Hay will enter a number of teams in the Victorian Country Teams event to be held in February with further details to follow.

 

Dec 31 Successful Tennis Presentation 

For the first time in over 20 years the Tennis Club held a combined end of year Party/Presentation night  and was a huge success.The idea came from Derek Mc Farland and Anthony Slattery with the night culminating in the presentation of two fabulous trophies to the Club Person of the year and Junior Sportsperson of year to two worthy recipients in Wendy Heerey and Charlie Cronin.The night commenced with Bentleigh Murphy beating Zac Molloy in the under 16 Singles Boys final the score 6/1 and the under 19 yrs commenced to reach the finals stage.The Club Championship mixed semis were held with wins to Peter Lawrence and Nicola Barrie as well as Warren Hunt and Tania Stephenson.All other juniors were kept busy with activities up to the presentation with special awards to Pacey Marks (most improved), Hannah Stewart (best first year player) and Delilah Crighton and Jesse Poole (potential players to watch)

The mens finals were completed during the week with winners being (A)grade Nicolas Royal- Andrew Cronin and Nicolas Hurle, (B)grade Pynors Accountants- Bede Schiller and Tom Porter and (C)grade  IGA-Stuart Callaghan and Charlie Cronin

The womens have reached the finals and play-offs in four grades with matches scheduled this week.

It was the last of the Sunday morning junior sessions to now resume in February this time in three sessions.

Four coaching camps are being conducted over the school holidays with the first camp now full with the second camp in three age groups/sessions durations of two hours to be held 28,29 30 December(see advert in Riverina Grazier)

The weekly Crightons Rural and Foodworks awards went to Charlie Cronin and Wendy Heerey with Wendy also very busy on the 2013 Calendar
